We had 4th of July over at my sister's house. She's not a dog person, so normally I wouldn't bring any of the dogs with me. But I knew I'd be gone around 8 hours and there's just no way Gully could hold it that long yet, so he went with me. I left Murph and Oz with peanut butter filled kongs, so they both seemed happy enough to spend the day lounging in the a/c. So there's only pics of Gully from yesterday.
Gosh, I just love this dog. He's turning out to be every bit as wonderful as Murph and Oz. Course I'll admit to being undeniably biased. He just did so awesome yesterday. He wasn't allowed in the house, so he had to spend a lil' time by himself in the backyard. No barking or whining... No tearing anything up... He just laid by the back door, until I came back outside. My sister finally admitted as far as dogs go, he's not half bad.
He did pretty good with the kids too. No jumping up on them. Calmly let them pet him. Although at first he wanted to bark at them, when they were running around and squealing. I think it may have triggered some herding instinct. I finally spritzed him with some water and he was fine after that. Him and Kyle, my lil' nephew, were getting along great. He was following Kyle everywhere he went. Kyle just loves dogs. Too bad he'll have to grow up without one. Well except for his cousins, Murph, Oz and Gully.
Here's one of my Grandmother petting him. She thinks he's ugly, but she admitted personality wise, she thinks he's a sweetheart. Towards the end of the day, out of nowhere, he went right up to her, and looked her straight in the eye and barked one time. Didn't do that to anybody else. I think he was trying to make a point about that ugly comment.
He's just nutty over plastic cups. I think I'm going to start shopping at Crate and Barrel for him vs. Petsmart.
Few more coming...
