Dawn got another mist bath (pics)

Nothing exciting, but it was really sunny and warm again out so I took Dawn out to get her mist bath with the hose. Took a few pics of her (since I'm always getting told I don't post enough of her )

    "Ohhhh bath time!"

    "That' feels soooo good"

Dawn is such a pretty girl. Gorgeous!

What a great idea! I never even thought of that. It is a really nice day here, I should do the same!

Did you make that perch yourself or did you buy it? It looks really nice.

    More pictures, please!

I bought it, I think at Petsmart, I have a couple of natural branch type perches and try to rotate them as I read it is good for their muscles to have perches of different sizes/textures. The little perch with the holes in it is actually like made out of a mineral block type substance, and is made for them to nibble on, which Dawn loves to do. That's also the perch she sleeps on at night.

Right now she is making her real mineral block give her scritchies LOL.

    Thanks for the compliments

Jessica, she looks wonderful and so happy to be getting that mist bath! I think I am going to have to try that, myself, with Roger and Milly. We have never done that before. Do you just use your regular cage and take the toys out when you do it? And then do you reline the bottom, afterwards? I have so many questions!!!

I'm glad you gave us some new pictures of Dawn!!!

Yes, I just take her cage and cage stand out. Before I take it outside, I take out the lining on her floor and her seed dish etc. I like to make sure it's at least around 80 out before I do it, just to be on the safe side. I have one of those hose nozzles that have different settings like jet, flat, shower, etc. Then I put it on the Mist setting and start spraying it in bursts. If it looks like she really wants it (sometimes she seems to want it more than others) then I will just hold it on her until she starts moving away from the water.

Afterwards I take the floor out and wash it up and reline it and wipe everything down with a towel and let her sit outside. I try to always have the cage in part sun/part shade, but she usually will always sit in the sunny part. I don't leave her out if it's truly hot like 95 or more, even in the shade.

She seems to really enjoy it though and I swear her colors look richer after she has had a bath and then sunbathed dry

    Thanks again for the compliments!
