    worried about Mishka's ear

Last week I gave Mishka a bath and he has been acting strange ever since. He shakes his head and keeps scratching at his ear ALL the time. Did I get water in his ear? Could he now have an ear infection? OMG...I feel so bad
He is active and is eating normally...but should I have him checked out? any advice would be grealy appreciated... thank you!

That does sound like something happened in the bath. I have no idea, can you see anything in the ear? Discharge, dirt?? Maybe there is some water in there.

I think I would take him to the vet to be safe.

Good luck and please keep us posted.

Yes Aguu, I would definitely get Mishka checked out and please don't feel bad, it could happen to anyone.
Whenever I have to bath my dog, Buddy, I stick some cotton balls in his ears, then when I have to water near the ear area, I hold my thumb on the cotton ball. It helps alot from him getting water in his ears.
I know it is much easier with a dog than a cat, but next time you have to bath Mishka, maybe you could try the cotton balls in the ears.

Keep us posted and how he is doing.

    (((((HUGS))))) to you.

Well - we had a v-e-t appointment for 8am this morning and the little monstie UNPLUGGED my alarm clock form the wall, curled up on my belly and we both slept till 10am!!
The little bugger. If I didn't know better I would say he knew were were going to the vet!
I think he is feeling better but we will try again tomorrow!

If he got water in his ear during bath time, the best way to relieve it is to put a couple of drops of isopropyl alcohol in his ear. That will take care of the problem.

The reason I give this advice is because when I was showing my cats, I gave my cat a bath and later he began to yowl like he was in pain. I did exactly what I told you to do and it took care of the problem.

    Hope everything works out okay.

    Really - won't that burn?
Can I still try that a week later or would it be too late now?
