Chum pics...

Ok, a few of you were asking for more pictures of Chum. These are some I snapped yesterday while we were out for a hike.

Playing in the little lake near our house with Daisy--the neighbor's dog who always comes with us on walks.

Playing chase with Hobo. They are very good friends and spend hours chasing each other around.

For those that don't know his story, Chum has been here since the fall of 2003. He came into the shelter several months before that. The shelter considered euthanizing him as he is very growly and until you get to know him it can come across as aggression. In reality, he's a big sweetie, just likes to talk and he has a growly voice. In September someone claiming to be his owner showed up at the shelter. They were drunk and abusive to the staff. Chum was still in the iso unit so they never saw him and the staff denied he was there as they didn't feel he would be safe if he was returned. The next day, he came out the back door with me and he's been here ever since. He's technically a foster, but my hubby is very attached. Chum will only be leaving if our friend who adopted Kira takes him. I suspect he's staying!

I remember Chum! So glad he's doing well and that he didn't go back to that hateful man. I swear, you have some of the happiest dogs on the planet. They are very lucky to have you.
