    overcrowded kill shelter!!!

as you probably already know it's kitten season and everyone wants a kitten, leaving all the adults without a home. so i decided to post some cats from the terre haute humane society that i work at.

She arrived here with her dancing buddies (Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly ....) and now waits to dance off into the sunset with someone who will love her for all the rest of her days. If you are willing to make a commitment to Ginger Rogers then we want to meet you. Please stop by our Back Cattery to meet Ginger R. and then fillo out an application for adoption to see if your home is a home suitable for Ginger Rogers.

She's approximately one year old .. and we call that "young". Missy was a little shy when we went to take her picture but she loved the attention we offered her after the "photo shoot". Please stop in our Back Cattery to meet Missy ... and let us know if she's THE ONE for you!!

She's two years old and we call her Lindy. This young feline is a little startled to find herself in our Back Cattery (amidst all these parenting young cats). She's hoping you'll take the time to come find her all the way in the back (across from the puppy room) because she would LOVE to meet you!!! Please stopi in to meet Lindy today.

He's almost your typical male .. except he doesn't have a home.... We named him Randall in honor of the memory of Tony Randall. Randall is 2+ years old and waiting to greet you in our Back Cattery. He's a very handsome cat who is looking for a good, safe, life-time-long home to share with someone who will love him. Please stop in to meet Randall in our Back Cattery.

He's described by staff as VERY LOVING! Derby's a winner every time!! He's 2 - 3 yrs. old and he's waiting for a chance to WIN your heart!

His name is Tommy and he's new to our Front Cattery. He's handsome, quiet, and waiting to be adopted at our shelter.
he has been here for a long time and needs a home ASAP!

He prefers to remain perched on the top of the highest cabinet in the Front Cattery. His name is Silas and we think he's about 3 yrs. old. He's no bother to any other cats but likes his resting/nesting spot up high. Please stop in to meet Silas ... you'll know where to look, right?
he has also been here for a while. and needs a home soon!

here is the link to the shelter's petfinder page.you can contact them there.

All these beautiful babies deserve a warm, loving home and a forever lap to curl up in. It is just so sad that people have not caught on yet about spaying/neutering their pets..Some have caught on and still dump their faithful companions when one tiney little problem comes up.. Kind of makes you wonder what they do when their human kids act up don't it?

    Oh there are so many.

I just love Tommy! I can't believe he has been there a long time, what a gorgeous boy. I pray he finds a wonderful home soon.

I looked on the website and fell in love with Mattie the Beagle too. Prayers on the way for all.

Mattie is such a cutie! i took her outside to play the other day and she just wouldn't stop running! it must be torture for her to be shut in that little 2x2 cage all the rest of the day.

thanks for caring! if any of ya know of any rescues that will take any of these cats please let me know! i don't know much about cat rescues i almost always do dogs.

What a bunch of sweeties, but how sad that they haven't found a forever home yet. I really hope they will - very soon!

It's a great idea to post their pictures here, hopefully someone will want to take one - or two!

My step-mom has been working on my dad for months now to get a small dog so she can have company when she goes on walks and such. I think she misses having a dog around, too. There aren't any good shelters around where they live in MI (right over the IN state line) so maybe I'll send them in your direction when the time finally comes. Meanwhile, I'll keep the kitties in my prayers and hope they all find forever homes soon!
