    Little Miss Lumpy Ear

Kia did it again. She has another hematoma. Same ear and this one is bigger than the last one. *sighs* It was 6:30 when I noticed it and the vet closed at 7. I called them up and they said I could bring her right in.

The vet confirmed that it was a hematoma and gave Kia an injection that will hopefully stop her itchies long enough so it can heal. She doesn't need the cone...yet. The hematoma should go down in 4 to 6 weeks.

    My little Miss Lumpy Ear.

Poor Kia! I hope your ear feels better soon!

Did the vet say what causes these? I remember Kia's "floppy" ear, but I forgot what caused the hematoma.

edit: I just went back and read what you wrote about the first one. Poor girl! I hope her itchies go away!

    Thanks.

It's still pretty large, but she doesn't pick at it, so no collar yet.
