    News On Beans...HCM

Got home a little while ago from the vets. The murmur has gotten worse the past two weeks and they think it's Feline Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (a heart disease where areas of heart muscle enlarge and thicken)

They've referred her to an (out of town) animal hospital and I'm taking her there for an echocardiogram and further treatment Friday morning.

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear this. Hopefully the specialist will get Beans through this!
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

Prayers coming your way for little Beans. Is this treatable???
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

As far as I know, the damage done to the heart already is not reversible. I guess they'll find out on Friday if there's a treatment for poor Beans that's slowing down the process...

I'm so very very sorry for poor Beans and her ((((meowmie))))!
