    Home-made Jewelery *pics*

As some of you know, I took a jewerly making class.

I made Ramanth, Kimmy, two necklaces.

Today I went to Michaels and got tons of beads, some more silver wires, and some wire wrapping tools.

I'm doing this for fun, but if i get actually good enough ( i doubt it ) to sell, i'm going to look into it.

Just though i'd share a necklace i made in like 5 mins ;x It's not great, but I was just having fun and playing aorund ;D
Oh and excuse me for any typos.. i'm extremely tired.

Silver, findings... and some other things.

Sculpey clay to make my own beads

    Dog beads

    Cat beads ;D

    Most of my beads

    And the necklace.
The colors didn't come out well, but the beats are purple

    That's all.

    I love that necklace!!!!!!!!

Kimmy is so lucky to have gotten some jewelry from you!!
    What a great class!!

When I got married, I was looking for necklaces for my bridesmaids to wear. I couldn't find what I wanted, so I went to Michael's and bought beads and everything to make them myself.
I made one, and it was ok, but I needed some practice, especially since I wanted them all to look the same.
I have no patience, so they never did get finished

I just love the doggie beads--I wonder if our Michael's has them?? Just what I need to do--buy a bunch of beads again!!

    Good job KayAnn!!!!

Good for you. I am never artist enough to make jewelery. I love those doggie and kitty beads. They are so cute. Be sure to post pics when you have more finished products.

I have seen jewelry for sale that was not half as good.
I used to make my own silver wire and beads jewelry way down around 1970 but you couldn't get such a huge variety of gorgeous beads then

Kay, now you have a career to go with that pet photography one. Jewelry making! You are just as talented at that as you are with the camera! The necklace you made Kimmy is terrific. I make some bracelets and I know it takes time and effort to get the pieces to come out well. Where did you find those kitty and doggie beads?

    Thanks everyone.
I think one think I can't do is school work.

I'll be posting more and more as I go along, and maybe even start selling..... I really hope I get that good to sell.. right now I don't think it's quality enough to sell.

What you don't see as quality another might. Don't put your talent down. For your first pieces, don't set the price as high. As you get better, you can start to ask more for each piece. Lots of people like jewelry and especially if it is unusual and unique and one of a kind which yours would be. You may be surprised by what others like and will want.

I am not sure what outlets you have to sell your jewelry. One way to "advertise" is to wear it yourself and when someone asks about it, say you are making them to sell. Or have a friend, your mother or someone else you know do the same thing. A secretary at our school put hers in a basket in the school office with price tags and lots of people - teachers, students and parents bought hers. You might look for a consignment place which will sell yourself as long as you give them a percentage of what you sell. Around here, near Christmas (which I know is a long way away) there are craft shows where you can "rent" table space and sell things. Good luck on your jewelry making and selling!
