Three injured in retirement home fight over salad
Three pensioners ended up in hospital after a fight over lettuce at their Florida retirement home.
One man needed stitches in a head wound after he was knocked to the ground, another cut his arm and a third man was bitten in the scuffle.
The Ledger reports the fight broke out at the Spring Haven Retirement Community in Winter Haven.
The home's executive director, Jill Andrew, says the trouble started when a 62-year-old resident accused a man in his 70s of picking through lettuce with his hands instead of using tongs.
According to the police report, the 62-year-old punched the older man in the mouth. Other residents, including the 62-year-old's 80-year-old mother, reportedly helped break up the fight.
Ms Andrew said the injured residents were released from hospital the same day. No charges have been brought, but the man who threw the first punch has been asked to leave the retirement home.
Ms Andrew said: "We see the humour in it. People think that because these people live in a retirement home that they've quit living, but we have 300 vibrant personalities here."

Humor in that situation???
Oh yeah....
Respect your elders-- because it looks like a "vibrant personality" like it can whip "youthfully exuberant" rear end..
LOLOLOLOL,
