    What is his or her name? The one we saw when we were there last year was getting shipped home to China. Is this a new one? I guess like most baby animals, s/he doesn't care about keeping clean!

    "His" name is Mei Sheng.......which translates to Born in the USA.

    They gave him an ice block with treats in it last week and he winced when he tasted it - too cold.

    They also gave him a ball - and he instinctively reared up to show this strange new thing that he was bigger. When he disovered it was not a threat - he pushed it around with his nose.

    The first cub born in the San Diego Zoo, Mai Yun, is still here.

    Aren't they the dearest things you have ever seen (well, aside from your own babies).

    I love Pandas. They are the cutest bears!

    My Dad bought me teddy bears when I was little. They were always Pandas. I still buy Panda bears. They are very special to me.
