    Best love songs?

I wanted to make Josh a CD for Valentine's Day with all the "great" love songs from the past few years. Any ideas???

Don't put this one on there. It's just my sentiment on love and Valentine's day. Love Stinks by J Geils Band. Oops. That's from the 80's anyway. This is an old one and I normally don't like Michael Jackson but I think the name of it is You Are Not Alone. Something like that. I love that song.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.
    [/SIZE]

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

"Because of your Love" - Kenny Chesney
"To Make you Feel my Love" - Garth Brooks

I'll think of more.. country has the BEST love songs around..
You're the one sure thing I've found so you better stick around...

I think "Angel Flying too Close to the Ground" by Willie Nelson is a good testament to love. And, Coldplay has some pretty good love songs. And, "Stellar" by Incubus. How about Dave Matthews Band...I can't remember if this is the exact title...but, the lyrics are something like "where you go, is where I belong". Just a couple ideas. I'll post more when I think of them.

    Thanks, Dogz!

"...when does sometimes turn into all the time...." Joe Pisapia

"And I find it kind of funny...I find it kind of sad...The dreams in which I’m dying Are the best I’ve ever had" Tears for Fears, Mad World

Ok, I can't believe this wasn't the first one that popped into my head, but, it's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. There are several versions of it, but, I think the best one is by Etta James...."At Last". That's a love song!

    Thanks, Dogz!

Here is a link that I found REALLY helpful when I was making a video for a friend's wedding. You can read the lyrics and see if it says what you want, then download the song to see if you like the sound of it.

    Hope this helps

Of course, you can go for obvious choices, too, like Unchained Melody. My boyfriend suggested "In my Life" by the Beatles, I like "8 Days a Week" myself! And, he also recommended Eric Clapton's "You Look Wonderful Tonight". I've got more in my head, too.....oh! I like No Doubt's "Underneath it All"....are you looking for slow, soft romantic love songs? Or for a variety? Different stuff? The obvious choices? Just wondering what kind of overall feeling you were wanting to convey!

    Thanks, Dogz!

I don't care if they are slower or whatever, variety is fine.

At our wedding we used "With This Ring" Sawyer Brown and "Kiss to Build a Dream on" by Louis Armstrong.
