Death to the mousie (toy, not real, ok to look)

I've figured out how to keep T & P interested in their toy mousies. I have a bag of dried catnip that I "marinate" them in. I bring a fresh one out and they go bonkers. After a day or two of always finding it in the same spot indicating no action, I put that one back in the marinade and bring out a fresh one. T & P go bonkers again on the new mousie and the old one gets a rest for a few days. And Peanut now comes running everytime she hears me opening the "marinade" bag.

So, Death to Mousie Part I

Hmm....that mousie looks good enough to eat!

But first I must kill it!

MMmmmm....that was good. A quick foot cleaning and then I believe it's nap time.

And Death to Mousie Part II

What is that delectable morsel I see?

    Die, mousie, die!

    Mmmm....boy was that good!

A catnip marinade! What a GREAT idea! Now if only I could find that one mousie that got away ....

I'm SO in love with Peanut!

I woke up this morning to find a skinned mousie!! Not sure who did it, or where the fur is...

Just a naked plastic body.... poor mousie.

Love the pics and that marinade idea.

I rub catnip on toys to "restore" them for Edwina. Eddie deosn't really need that. He's catnip crazy.

Obviously, catnip mousie killing is exhausting work!

Well, I'm amazed that the mousie still has his tail. That's the first thing to go on my cat kids' mousies.

Loved the pictures. Thanks for sharing them with us.

RIP sweet mousie until we meet again.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

    awwwwwwwww

    Get em' Tubby and Peanut!!!

    Those pictures were sooooo cute!!

I have tried the maranade idea... I take T and J's little fuzzy balls and rub them around in the catnip bag (hmmmmm now that didn't sound nice ).... and Tinky will flip them in the air and Jupiter rubs them to death... then eventually they all end up in the fuzzy ball graveyard... beside the refridgerator... untill Meowmie and Mr. Broom sweep them out.

    GREAT PICTURES.... POST *MORE*

    Catnip mousie marinade! Sounds delish!

As for skinning mousies Bastet does that all the time. She has figured out that they have a *zipper* on them where they stick down the fur on the plastic so she gets her canine tooth and rips downwards to skin it. Not that she plays with the skin, she just likes the plastic

Great pics of your two mousers. I have the catnip spray so sometimes I'll spray it on their toys if they need some refreshing. I've also sprayed it on their cat trees and Sunny loves it so much that he'll start licking the cat trees.

    Marinated in catnip? Great idea

And yes, here mousies loose their tail first and then they are skinned. I am glad they don't eat them
