Once again I find myself laughing aloud at a cat column written by SF Chronicle's Jon Carroll. Hope you enjoy it, too.

I'm sometimes asked "Why do you spend so much of your time and money talking about kindness to animals when there is so much cruelty to men?" I answer: "I am working at the roots." -George T. Angell, reformer (1823-1909)

And yet another cat column -- Do cats know their names?

hee hee!!
.
and the 2nd one too......LOL
.
And what classics they are!
When we took Eddie to the vet she asked if we had any problems with two cats with such similar names. The other day both were hanging around so I tried "Eddie"....he looked..."Edwina" ....she twitched her tail. They definitely know their names!
AmberLee, those articles were fun!!!! Thanks for sending them.
Those were both just too funny, Amberlee!
The first one so reminds me of Tubby & Terry. Tubby will do the dance for Terry and Terry has to do the ol' switcheroo or Tubby just will not leave him alone.

Those were great! Sooo true. If you read any more can you post them? I'd love to read them.
Thanks for the siggy, Lexi_Lover!
ROFL!!! Those were hysterical!! You have no doubt when you read those articles that he is definately owned by a cat!!
Gosh we should invite him to be a Pet Talker!! He sounds just like one of us! He is so right about their acute hearing when he opens that cereal box. My Trevor can hear the lid of a yogurt coming off two rooms away. (unfortunately now with his diabetes his mommy has to just say 'no' and break his little heart. )Originally posted by catcrazylady

I loved the delusional bit (I am in control here. She weighs 13 pounds. I weigh 195.) - don't we all say that at some point before entirely giving up?
Many thanks Amberlee for the two articles - I was almost crying with laughter - that guy sounds the perfect pet Talker!!
Any more of his 'caticles' would be wonderful to read.

RIP Dear Dan xxx
I actually remembered to get milk at the grocery this week. Edwina and Eddie were asleep on my bed. I went downstairs, took out a box of cereal, the milk and sat down at the table. Poured the cereal in the bowl and didn't even have the milk poured when...here comes Eddie!
It is not easy to eat cereal with a rather large cat head stuck in the bowl!
These are excellent.
I know that trick oh too well!Originally posted by Edwina's Secretary
