    Jada's "rash"

I just noticed yesterday that Jada has what appears to be a rash on her tummy. She's been licking at a spot for the past couple of days, and I noticed how red it has gotten yesterday. It's right at the end of her belly, right before her leg.
The reason I can see it so well is because she was shaved for her spaying last month, but I'm wondering if she didn't get a razor nick or if the hair is just irritating her growing back in

I have Dermasol, that I used on Kito when he was eating his paws, and it worked well, and I also have Sulfodrene shampoo.

I don't know what I should put on it though, I don't want to make her uncomfortable. As it is, she doesn't bother it too much, but enough to make me take notice.

    Any ideas or advice??

We were at the vet's today.....Lilly needed her shots and she had a hot spot on her tail. Murphy was in for a recheck of her ears. Our vet said that this time of year is brutal on our dogs because of allergies, due to the pollenation going on. I hope Jada's rash is exactly that. This too will pass, but if it gets too bad, see your vet because a simple shot, and maybe a course of Prednisone or Benadryl will help. Good luck and hugs to Jada!!!

For anything that I suspect may be allergy related, I always try Benadryl first. Call your vet and ask for their recommendation as far as dosage and try it for a few days. Hopefully, it'll do the trick. It *sounds* like an allergy, but it's hard to say, especially without a pic!!!

    Subtle Micki!!!!
I'm going to bring the neighbor's dog over later today, and I'll get the camera out then Poor dog, he hears these 4 playing in the yard, and he's tied up in his yard all alone, digging holes all over the place--I brought him over last night too.

Anyway, she's still licking the spot--I was going to try Benadryl, but I'll call my vet first for the dosage!!

Thanks for the hugs and well wishes!!!!

Just talked to the vet--amazingly, she didn't ask me to come in so she could see it and charge me $100!!
She said to wash it with a mild soap (of course nothing in the house was good enough, so I had to run out and buy some), and give her 25mg of Benadryl.
She said it's possilbe that with the area being shaved, something could have irritated it that otherwise wouldn't have.

When they are all done playing I will wash her and medicate her!!

    Wow!!!
Her rash is almost gone!!! I washed it and gave her Benadryl on Saturday night, and last night when I went to wash the spot I almost couldn't find it--it's cleared up really well!! I washed it again, and gave her more Benadryl last night, but it looks good now!!!

I'm glad it's almost better! What a nice vet too - if I had phoned my vet I would have had to bring the dog in and, without a doubt, she would have had to give some sort of expensive injection and do lot of lab work. I've never got out of her office without spending at least $150!

    Thanks for the siggy, Lexi_Lover!
