PCB, I am getting three baby tiels tomorrow!

Hi everyone, tomorrow I will be adding three 5 week old tiels to our household. Two are latinos and one is a pied. As far as I know the latinos that the parents throw usually turn into very subtle pearls, and are beautiful! I will be hand raising and taming the babies for a friend who is having some health issues and doesn't have the time to raise them herself. They are still in with momma bird and daddy until they can come here with me. I will make sure to take lots of "growing up" pics, as I know you will really love them!


I can't wait to go through this experience again. I miss handrearing the tiels my mother and I had while growing up and have been dreaming of doing it again. I will be keeping one of the babies, most likely one of the latinos which my friend will be giving me for having raised the babies. I have been saving my cage for the right birdy and oh what a dream to be able to raise him/her! I have the cage already, the food and toys and all sorts of goodies.

I bet the two lutinos will grow up to look just like my Popcorn! Can't wait to see your new babies! Keep us updated!

I'm actually kinda nervous since I haven't handfed a baby in a long time. It's just a scary thought having three little babie's lives in MY hands. But I am doing them a favor as unforunately this lady doesn't take the best care of her animals. She's not really my friend, just an aquaintence, but I am hoping to at least give one of these babies a fantastic home. Hey, maybe she'll let me keep all three lol. She is also giving me her chinchilla because she can't afford to take him to the doctors and he has something wrong with his eye. One of her tiels has a tumour on it's back
( I will try to take her with me tomorrow) and still hasn't been to the vet. Her horses still haven't been shoed and their getting pretty bad. I am taking my camera with me tomorrow to take pics of the animals. I hope it's not as bad as it sounds. She raises all sorts of stuff for MONEY, her exact words were it's only for money. It's just sad but if I can convince her to hand some of her animals over then it's worth taking a trip over there.

I know, it's so sad. I was so looking forward to this, and to getting my mom a tiel too. I just hope they are in good hands.
