It has been over 90 years since the Cubs have gone this far. As a Northsider it is exciting.

Saturday night we went to dinner in the neighborhood. We arrived during the 9th inning. There was no sitting at a table or getting served. So we stood in the bar with the other patrons and servers and watched. Cubs were down by two. Sammy Sosa was up to bat. Two outs and a man on base. Sammy plays with heart as well as tremendous strength. He gets a hit -- high to center field --- will it stay in the friendly confines or tie the game??? It is caught, game over, Cubs lose....it is on to Atlanta for the fifth and final game.

I didn't watch last nights game. Didn't need to. In bed reading I could hear what was going on. The neighborhood erupted. Shouts, cheers, car horns honking. The Clampetts across the street standing on the road shouting to every car that went by.

I think the Cubs owe it all to Vio ...who has been wearing the Cubs baseball cap I gave her! They even have fans now in Moldova!
