    Anyone How To Pickle Beets???

And please, no jokes about "getting them drunk" either. I picked some beets from the garden in the back yard and need to pickle them before they go bad. Do I boil them, cut them up and stick them in a jar of vinegar?????

    HEELLLLLPPPP!!!!

Pickled lotsa stuff growing up, but never beeps! My sister's favorite (she loooves beets - family silliness we always call 'em beeps) besides just steaming them is Harvard Beeps, but that doesn't preserve them, so I won't bother posting that recipe.

If you want, I can check some of the cookbooks or even my Great Aunt's recipe boxes ...

    Soledad,

Because I really do like pickled beets and there are a bunch of beets in our garden. I supposed I could just go to the store and buy a jar of them, but there's something about homemade pickled beets.

*sigh* I looked at the links. I only have 5 beets. So much for that idea. Looks like I'll buy them. There's only 1 step to that...open jar, take out a beet and eat it!!!

I hope my dads neighbour starts pickling stuff again. She gives it to him, but he can't eat it fast enough so it goes bad, so now I get everything she makes, shes an awesome cook

    Cinder, Smoke--

Tell your pop it's ok to eat them... I don't think he'll need a bro (any Seinfeld fans out there?) anytime soon!

Ya know, I've never tried pickled beets...
The family frightened me w/ that saying when I was little -- I didn't try them because I didn't want to look like my Aunt Norma!
