    Hermie

Well, I tried. I called our vet to make Hermie's spay appointment and they said their vets don't fix kittens until 5-6 months.

So, Hermie gets to wait anyway...

I am not surprised. In our area there is only 1 vet that I know of that will do the operation on VERY young cats. The rest all want them to be 5 - 6 months. (Whether this is right or wrong thinking, it is our only option)

How old is Hermie again? Four plus, right? So they won't schedule an appointment for another month?

More details please, I'm very confused.

Hermie just turned 16 weeks on Tuesday. (about four months) So, they said to call back when she's closer to 5-6 months. I'll be calling the day she turns 5 months.

I think it's better to wait until a cat is about 5-6 months old. I still can't believe that someone neutered my RB Pepper when he was only 8 weeks old. I adopted him at 9 weeks old. I think that this is way too young.

Awwww, Hermie, little girl! I'm sure she'll be fine to wait. Isn't it amazing that a spay only takes 10-15 minutes start to finish??

Most vets in Australia wait until the kitten is at least 5 to 6 months old. They don't want litigation because of the anethetic killing a treasured pet. Even though mind you, it would be accidental.
