    my new babes, Merry and Pippen...

    I got two baby rats, about 3 weeks ago, I desided it would be safe to let pt know now, lol. I had to take one of them to the vet "Pippen" because his toe was really swolen. They prescribed baytril, he is better now . Anyways I got them when they were 5 weeks old from a local pet store WolfSoul helped me pick them out. they are both males "brothers". Happy and healthy. I named them Merry and Pippen,*off lord of the rings * they are 9 weeks old now .. here are a couple of pics of my boys .....

    a little about them....

    Pippen:

    fav food: dryed banana

    fav game: Tag, *I chase him with my hand around his cage and my bed*

    Fav toy: his bell chain

    Merry:

    fav food: Broccoli (sp?) He loves it frozen as well as freshly cut.

    Fav game: tickle time . *when I pick him up and place him on his belly and tickle his tummy .

    fav toy: his brother lol ... Ice cubes, he loves them too.

    they are both husky blaazed boys, considering wolfsoul said lol. I think Merry had a little blazed hood, in the light it is very visible!!!

    We dont have the other ratties Zillah anymore she was euthanized . poor baby ...

    Nope, only one is a husky, the blazed one. The other one does not have a blaze, as if he did it would be clearly visible, especially on a dark furred rat. It looks like he may have a headspot though. I LOVE headspots!

    You sure can tell they are both boys though lol! haha Your other boy looks like a berkshire to me.

    She had a HUGE tumer and she was eating her tail away, it was so sad she was suffering She was also VERY cage territorial, she would attack anyone who tryed to pet her .. She is in heaven now. . We will meet again.

    They are the BEST pets I love them !!! They are so funny they have the HUGEST personalities!! they are my lil babies ..

    luckies: One does have a bit of a head stop . and Merry is the blazed/berkshire right??? and Pippen is the Husky???? lol I know alot about rats just not their coat types. lol

    ha ha I know when I took Pippen to the vet, a lady asked what was wronge with his bottom, She asked what was thoughs things sticking out of him bottom ,lol.. I told her to use her emagination and she replyed " is it a disconnected bone??" I laughed my head off at that point, I said "NO, they are his testicals lmao" ... they have very BIG testies. lol

    That's what I thought too. But the other one confuses me. He looks more like a blazed berkshire than a husky to me, but it's so difficult to tell They make the ratty standards so confusing
