Today on the Golden Retriever site, someone started a message thread where we would submit limericks about our Goldens. The only rule was that the first line would be: "I own a great Golden named _____". Of course you don't all have Goldens, but it is fun. Here are the ones I posted. I know, I know, I got carried away.
We own a great Golden named Honey
Sometimes she isn't so funny
A hunter is she
Even after we plea
We are relieved; so far no bunny
We own a great Golden named Honey
Her chewing has cost me some money
Shoes, plants and rugs
She gives them a tug
Then goes and naps where its sunny
We have a great Golden named Lilly
When it comes to her food she is silly
Lilly feels no guilt
About eating whats spilt
So we're off for a walk up the hilly
We have a great Golden named Lil
When her hips hurt, she swallows her pill
A sweetheart is she
She fills us with glee
And Mom gladly takes care of the bill
Hope you will all join in. I think I remember that in a limerick, the first, second and fifth lines rhyme with eachother, then the third and fourth line rhyme.
Start writing!!!!
