3 Kittens Dumped
I just got a call from the park. Someone dumped 3 kittens, approximately 8 weeks, in the park in a carrier! They were able to capture on small black one, but there's 2 out there we can't find.
The park people are going to watch for them during the day, and in the meantime, place food and water where they found the carrier. We keep looking for them in the evening, but can't find them. It is beyond me why people do this. Why can't they at least take them to the Humane Society? You know it's been at least 111 degrees here, what are they thinking? At least the Humane Society would offer them a chance at adoption and not die a slow death in the heat.
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers
