Bettas

My Betta, Trooper gets fed once every other day. He's lived for well over a year, so I must be doing something right.

I am temporarily doing a desk job, and I have inherited a betta with it. The previous assistant left a note saying to feed the betta 3 times a day, he looks like he may pop! How often do you all think Bettas should be fed?

Wow!! umm I dont think your soppose to feed them THREE times a day...I would feed it every other day..like you do with trooper...thats how often I fed Elivs.

I have six Bettas: Mooka, Bubbles, Popcorn, Aiken, Ocean, and Aqua. I feed them a few small flakes once a day, and they do fine. Bettas can get sick if they get too little or too much food.

Hmmm. When I first got Jimmy, I was advised by someone on this board (I don't remember whom) that bettas should get fed everyday. However, I noticed that Jimmy didn't eat every day, and cut it down to everyother day, and he is doing fine. So once every day or two should be fine, and I would think 3X a day would be excessive!!

I have always fed my bettas 3 or 4 food pellets twice a day. It has always worked well for the fishies How often you feed could possibly depend on what type of food you're feeding them

I feed my bettas every other day too. Well, sometimes I do it once a day, but I just feed a bit less.

Its also good to have several varieties of betta food.

once a day I feed my betta male.

We usually only feed ours once a day.
