Filou is in for tooth cleaning

Filou's gums started to get red again and his breath started smelling like Thai fish sauce -so we knew it was time for the tooth cleaning because we don't want Juni to fall down when he kisses her

So he was not allowed to eat since yesterday evening and to make it more simple Tigris didn't get anything either. We brought the carrier upstairs this morning but they both were in the kitchen asking for food urgently so they had not noticed that I had closed all the doors

He was singing all the time "rrrraus" which means "out" on the way to the vet (little Filou has a loud baritone voice if it comes to this) but at the vet's he was a very cute and well-behaved kitty

They just called to say it is done and we can pick him up in two hours time.

Oh Filou, what a good boy you are! It wasn't that bad after all and you must enjoy having clean teeth. Your mum and dad may not have had the sleep they wanted to, last night, but now they can give you lots of kisses without that fishy smell, so it's worth it.

I remember the difference when Fister had his teeth clened, what a joy for us all. Could well be that it's Fister's turn again soon.

Glad Filou has survived another visit to the white coats. Maya and Bodhi are only a year and a half old and so their teeth are still fine. As a preventative I found a sprinkle on their food, cheese enzyme powder that is supposed to help keep teeth and gums healthy. Hope it works, brushing 2 sets of kitty teeth a day is not possible ! Does anyone brush their cat's teeth ?

Oh Filou! Good dental hygiene is so important! And it will enhance your social life. Does it feel so good too?????

lailamara ---- I know Amberlee brushes her cats teeth. Frankly, I'm rather fond of my fingers and have never seriously considered brushing Edwina's teeth....

Filou, I am glad to hear that your visit to the dentist went smoothly. What a good boy! I'm sure that Juni will appreciate kisses from a gentleman with such good hygiene.

Filou is here, still a little shaky but he does not want to sleep, no he goes everywhere and looks whether it is still the same apartment

He smells a little like dentist and this made Tigris vanish under the bed again

The vet says (and my dentist says the same) it is with cats as it is with humans: some build tartar easier than others. She would not recommend the stress of tooth brushing to cats that hate it so much like Filou. It's always some action to inspect his teeth. And Tigris would just rip my arm off if I tried. But his teeth are better than Filou's.

I'm so glad to hear that Filou's teeth cleaning went well. Storm and Sunny have also had their teeth cleaned before. Now that I only feed them dry food this should help their teeth. I've also heard that Aby's usually have poor teeth and Sunny is half aby so I hope it's not true.

Filou, when you have finished inspecting the flat and found all in order, give us a big smile - and let you dad take another photo of you!

Oh, I knew about Filou going to the dentist, but I missed this thread.

Juni will surely appreciate Filou's fresh breath Actually, she just asked me today if there are any plans for birthday parties and if Barbara will allow Filou to come? She takes it for granted that I will allow her to go
