    YAY!! I adopted 2 BUNNIES yesterday! :) :) :)

Yay!! My mom said that it was okay for me to adopt a bunny! (Little did she know I was planning on getting 2 haha) Im moving out in a week so I was hoping she'd say okay, and at first she said no, but then she changed her mind. She said theyd have to stay in the garage tho cause they "smell" and I said thats fine. But then I got them home and set them up in my room, planning to move them down there at night, and yeah, I just couldnt do it. So Im just kinda waiting till my mom says I have to move them out of my room. lol But they arent smelly and they are good with their litter box, so, I hope theyve proven themselves worthy to my mom. lol

I went to this rabbit only shelter in Gig Harbour (its was like.. a 1 1/2-2 hr drive away) called Rabbit Haven. I was hoping to get a bonded pair, and I had my eye on a few that Id seen online. I didnt even remember seeing these 2 online because I think they were older than I was looking for. But then once I got there and met a few bunnies, I just fell in love with these 2.

The black male is a Holland Lop, which is the cutest rabbit breed in my opinion hehe and my fave bun Ive ever had was a Holland. And the girl is a netherland dwarf mix, and Ive had 2 netherlands in the past as well. So they were just too cute, and they were prob the smallest of the bunnies there, and I mean, Ive always had and been around small breeds, so thats what Im used to. hehe And their names now are Appaloosa (girl) and Floppy D (boy). So, I gotta change them. haha Im thinking maybe Winston or Oliver for the holland. And I have no idea for the little girly.

The girl is about 3 and a half and the boy is about 2 yrs. They came from a family who had had them about a year, but were moving to cali I think and couldnt take them.. Their nails looked like they had never been cut, they were all twisted, I can tell now by looking at them, they are still twisted a bit, and the lady said they were really really long. and they were being fed a very unhealthy and fattening diet, (squirrel mix, with all kinds of nuts and weird things...) so she said they are a little overweight and havent been too good about eating their veggies and such. They had only been at the shelter about 3 weeks.

It was kinda weird at first cause I havent been around any bunnies at all for like 3 years. But then I got more used to them. lol So anyhoo.. we (my friend jenessa & I) were there for a while, talking to the lady who runs the place. Then I filled out the adoption application, and all that shiz, and we were off.

Lucy is a lot calmer than Floppy, but they are both really sweet and love to be petted, and dont mind being held and carried around at all. They have come out of the cage a little bit today, but are still a bit shy and usually get spooked and run back to safety. hehe

Sooooo..... heres what I know youre all waiting for ( hehehe) pictures!:

    Floppy D (aka floppy):

this one is the most accurate of his colour.

    Appaloosa (aka Loosey/Lucy):

They are both so cute! I would love to have a bun, but I'm highly allergic and I think my cats would get jealous.

Congratulations! I KNEW zippy-kat would love Floppy/Oliver's picture - anyone see a resemblance to a certain Rainbow Bridge resident?

They're lovely bunnies, if a tad rotund - good luck on diets for them, guess not too many carrots or raisins right now! Glad they're in a good bunny-lovin' home!

    Parsley kisses for all!
