    Picky Kittens?

Skylar is such a picky boy! He doesn't even like canned kitten food. He refuses to eat anything except softened (with warm water) dry Nutro kitten food. y0hbg-gplo

Opps sorry, he wanted to type I think he's embarrassed that I'm talking about his eating habits.

Lily, on the other hand, tries to eat everything in sight and her favorite thing to do is pounce on me after I eat so she can lick my hands clean.

Does anybody have picky cats and does it cause any problems like being underweight? Skylar is normal weight so I guess he's okay. Maybe I'm just used to my piggy animals

Around here my female Maya will eat any and everything. Bodhi on the other hand would rather play and is easily distracted in the middle of his meal. As he walks off to check something out Maya kindly finishes off his food. Neither is over or under weight. Both will do anything for Kitty Kisses a dried chicken liver treat. Yuck!!!

Aly, this is very interesting to me. I have 'twins' Allie and Dakky, turning three in August. Allie turns her nose up at everything!, and remains a petite little femmie thing. Dakky, on the other hand, was the ONLY kitty I have ever lived with that showed food aggression. He, as a kitten, would eat most anything. Today, he is a bit pickier, but, sheesh, what a hog-let he is! He, unlike his twinnie, is not petite.

I think some kitties are just persnickity. My Tex will eat nearly anything I eat......

Thanks for the replies. I find it pretty interesting too. A few times, I've spilled some food and Lily has gone to help me clean it up. When I bend over and put my hand down near the food, she puts her paw on top of my hand with lightning speed as if to say DONT YOU DARE!!!!

Yes, I have one cat, Lita, she's very picky about her food. Her problem is that she changes her mind. One day she likes something and then the next day she will look at me as if to say "I'm not eating that again" "MEOW"= "Find me something else!!!!!" MEOW again as if to say "NOW".
She driving me nuts, she wont eat wet food at all, so I have a shelf full of any and all dry cat food they make, just to make her happy. AND she still doesn't put on weight, Vet says she find though, so I don't worry about the weight.
She always has been a odd looking thing though.......Very long skinny body. I was hoping when she was fixed that she put on a little weight, as all the others do, put no, not Lita!! she has to be different.

Storm will eat almost anything. He loves people food and most cat treats too. Sunny is very picky but loves his dry cat food. He doesn't like many cat treats though. Cirrus loves his dry food and can be quite piggy with it. He also loves cat treats. My new kitty Sky also loves his dry food and seems to have piggy potential. I'm not too sure about cat treats yet but he'll probably love them.

The only thing I notice with Hermoine is that she prefer's Noah, Noel and Basie's Royal Canin Indoor to her Royal Canin Baby Cat. Silly kitties!!

Both Filou and Tigris are VERY picky with cat food. It is hot here and I feel they eat really nothing. They do that every summer and their weight doesn't change. After some days of eating very badly they usually have one day in which they eat more....

Filou would go for human food but he doesn't get it (of course he gets some bits but only on occasion, never daily, and it could be less than 10 g salmon or just being allowed to lick an avocado peel )

Filou however eats more than Tigris. He is 7,5 lb.
Tigris is extremely picky and he is 13 lb.

I stopped to worry about that. They know what they are doing.
