She who will not be ignored

Well, Katie just reminded me that one does not ignore the cat. I was sitting on the sofa, doing some editing work, and Katie sprawled out next to me and mewed a couple times. Shame on me, I didn't immediately drop the papers and pet the cat!

So she put her paws on my shoulder and very gently nipped my earlobe! Then she meowed (a very perturbed meow) right in my ear.

And yes, I confess, it worked. She got her belly rubs. Sigh.

It's amazing how smart they are. My Max insists on his morning belly rubs but what he'll do is roll on his back and park himself right outside the bathroom door so that after my shower I have to step over him to get to the bedroom. If I don't pet him right away he'll meow really loud and just stay there until I give him his fix. You gotta love it!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Yep, they're clever creatures, all right. Katie couldn't have said "Hey, I'm talking to you!" any clearer if she'd said it in English.

    LOL

Pixel does it by chewing our hair in the mornings to wake us up! Or ripping the curtains, that does just as well.
