Ohh I hope your dog feels alright. Hm well I've never had my dog chomp down anything big that I had to get out. I'd just call the vet again and ask for advice.

Not too long ago, ChrisH's dog at a mouse that belonged to Ebby, her cat. She gave him hydrogen peroxide too--let me see if I can find the thread.

I'm surprised to hear the vet wants him to throw it up.
Any signs of him having chewed it and then eaten it??? It's a pretty long, large item to go down whole and it could get lodged in his throat coming up! Vomiting usually starts not long after being given the hydrogen peroxide. I wouldn't leave him alone until you are sure he's done vomiting. From my experience, with items such as that, the vets wait a day or so to see if it's pooped out while watching for any signs of discomfot. Poor pup! Hopefully the vet will have further advice. Prayers for Boxer boy...Please keep us updated!

Poor pup. I'd watch him closely ... did it have a buckle-type collar? Did he eat the whole thing? Is he eating (and pooping) normally?

Of COURSE, being a dog, he chose the holiday weekend to do this!

I wonder why the vet doesn't want him to just poop it out? I suppose because it's long it could cause intestinal problems...

Hydrogen peroxide is fine, as long as it isn't taken in large amounts. Tikeyas_mom's dog, Tikeya, ate chocolate once and she had to give her perioxide
    I've been BOO'd!

Oh, thank goodness! You'll have to buy a less tasty collar this time, I guess!
