    Brush Teeth

I recently started brushing Mickey's teeth. He stays still and is pretty good except for one thing--the toothpaste is vanilla flavored (and it smells like icing on a cake...mmmm ) and he always licks it away. It makes it so hard for me to brush his teeth with his tongue in the middle of it all, all the time. I'm not even sure if I get the job done properly. I've tried getting my mom to hold his head straight while I brush but he just keeps licking at the toothpaste and moving around.. What can I do? Thanks

We have a vanilla flavoured one too! is your's WAHL brand? Mine does that too! I'm not sure what to do...maybe switch to a less tastier toothpaste?... What kinda helped was putting less toothpaste on...it helped a BIT...not much..

I would love to hear the solution to this one too!!!
Kito will sit good for me to brush his teeth, Abbey licks all of the toothpaste away, and Riley wants to eat the toothbrush!!!
When Abbey licks away the toothpaste, I just brush her teeth with the brush anyway, I figure it's better than nothing--our toothpaste is poultry flavored--yuk!!!

Nebo's tongue is constantly in the way too. I don't know if its possible for it to not be. Recently I bought an electric toothbrush (for dogs...called the Doggie Dentist) for him. It works pretty good I think!

I guess there isn't much that can be done then...

I tried to do Mick's teeth again today. I made him lie down so I could get a better view of his teeth and gums. It went a bit easier than if his head is just straight up. He still went after the toothpaste though...
