Oh boy, What *did* I do???????

Well, I am now using Mark's computer because....uh.. I did something *stupid!!!!* My boss told me about this cool website, so I went there and downloaded a program. The minute I opened the program, it started deleting files from my computer I can't even boot up or ANYTHING!! So right now, Mark is trying to format the hardrive back to the beginning, but is having trouble because he can't even get into anything. *sigh* Serves me right for downloading something I didn't even know anything about.

Oh, and we did a backup 2 weeks ago, but still there is so much information that is gonna be lost. *sigh*

My husband on the other hand built both of ours and programmed them... so anytime I need something I get him to do it.....

Shouldn't of your boss like surfed the website a *tiny* bit before telling you? I'm not criticizing your boss but, he's basically saying HERE MESS UP YOUR COMPUTER! Did you know if he told anyone else at your workplace about this site?

Eek, your boss told you to DL the program?? I don't know a whole lot about comps either, my dad and bro are both really good with them (They actually seem to know more about them then the help lines Which I guess isn't saying a lot lmao) They always fix my mess ups for me :x But I would be screwed cause I don't back up files..I don't have a burner and I haven't been able to connect to my dads/bro's comp :[ Hope Mark fixes it soon

Hi Amy....the website worked *perfectly* for him!!!! We used it on Wednesday, and he showed me exactly what to do and everything. So I really don't know why this did this to me. So, no, I don't blame him at all.

I know JUST how you feel! I've done this before to my computer and boy was I mad at myself! If you have Windows XP, try inserting the CD and it should load by itself. When it gets to the part where it asks if it should format and install a fresh copy, or just install a fresh copy, make sure to have it format and install a fresh copy. Its pretty easy to format with xp. If you don't have xp, well, then I don't know. Good luck! Its awful when such things happen!

That's terrible I sure hope he gets it fixed soon.

That is one of my biggest fears, that I will download something & it will mess up my computer. I'm really dumb when it comes to the computer!

Well my computer-ator is somewhat back up & running. I don't have any software loaded or anything...just Windows! We have to restore from a backup, but that should be pretty straight forward.
