    What a difference!

Mickey used to be so dark in color. I was looking at some old photos and I noticed how brown he was. Now he's such a blondie! Check the difference out -->

Did anyone else's dog go through such a drastic color change?

I know that sometimes when puppies come into the grooming shop, they have dark tipped fur. This puppy color only lasts until the hair grows out and then the adult color is the lighter "root" color. I do not know if only certain breeds get this or not, but I have seen it happen.

Yeah, I remember the breeder pulled back his fur slightly and you saw the blond hair. I just didn't know what a difference it was! He still has some black tips on his tail, but I want that to stay. Do you know if it will?

    Mickey is so cute!!!!
My mother-in-law's pom, Casey, was a lighter color when she got him (around 14 weeks), and he's getting a bit darker now.
I don't know anything about the hair though, so I can't help you out on whether or not it will change.

I think the dark on his tail will *probably* stay but I can't tell you for sure.

    Cute pics of Mickey boy!

    Hi Prima!

Cairn Terrier hair not only changes from when their puppies to
adults, but it changes throughout their lifetime too... Murph
started out grey, then wheaten and now he almost looks like
a Westie. Maddie's beard turned white a few years ago, which
I thought was from old age, but over the last few months it's
starting to turn red. And she didn't get the lil' moppet of red
hair on top of her head, until a couple of years ago.

    Mickey looks cute as blonde!

Thanks Souraya, Par and Cataholic! lol, I don't think Mickey would like that very much
Oh and I don't wanna start a new thread for these but I got 2 more pictures of Mickey

Love that mane. He just puffs out his chest to impress the ladies (don't ask about the 'kerchief. I had to fold it over and it came out so dumb lol )

Oh he looks gorgeous in that snow pic and quite a bit bigger
too. There's a sheltie in Oz's dog agility class, that's about the
size of a papillion. Don't know where she found a sheltie so
small, but I like them more when they're more on the larger side.

    Cute pics!

Timber was a lightsable colour, with a gray back and muzzle, and white paws. Now she a darker sable with a white chest and stomach and white paws, a black saddleback, and a sable muzzle.

Leather was pure white with black stripes. Now she silver gold and black, with a black saddleback.
    I've been BOO'd!
