Here I was playing on my comp when I thought I hearp a pump of some sort breaking outside my bedroom. I got up & what do I find?? I found poor Shadow barfing her brains out (Shadow is a black cat)... I called her to see if she was ok & she just came me a scared look & ran beside the furnace... so I just left her alone & went back to my computer & then I heard it again (not even 20 sec later) I ran to see if she was ok & she had barfed again. I have never see a cat barf sooo much in my life... I messaged Tom to tell him his moms cat is barfing all over the place beside my bedroom, so he came downstairs & cleaned it up... I asked what the hell mad her so sick & he said his mom ran out of cat food & gave her 1/2 a can of cat treats!!!! I couldn't believe my ears, I said she knows the cat can't have more then 2 of the treats or she'll get sick, so why the hell did she give the cat 1/2 a damn tin for... he said she didn't feel like getting it food... One of these days I'm gonna make the cat dissapear... I'm gonna steal her & send her to the shelter I use to work at (its a no kill) & tell them they refuse to bring the cat to the vets & they let it run loose outside non-vaccinated... The only reason the cat is here is cause its a symbol thing, just like how some ppl have kids just to show them off but they really could give a damn about the kid... well no one but me & rob pet the cat. the mother yells at the cat cause she meows when she wants to be fed... but its ok if her vicious dog barks non stop wanting to be fed... The black dog is gonna dissapear to be put to sleep & were gonna say it ran away... cause the dog runs away alot

If the owners are not feeding the cat, not taking her to the vets when required, not vaccinating her... take her.

If you are serious about what you have written, take that cat to the shelter today. They'll get her a good home.

Why not just try to find the dog a better home so it can't/won't run away???

OR AT LEAST take it to that shelter you spoke of!

That is NO REASON to kill the poor dog!!

hmm.. well Im hoping/assuming that as an animal lover you are kidding.. Although thats not a very funny thing to joke about.. I mean, that statement is ubsurd, esp after making it obvious how concerned you are about the welfare of the cat, why be so hatful toward the dog? Why care about one pet, but not the other? So what if she (the mom) cares about the dog more? Its not the dog's fault it wasnt trained and barks and is annoying to you (and who knows who else). Its not the dog's fault that the woman likes it but not the cat. Its not like the dog has some kind of vendetta aganst the cat, animals dont seek revenge. Its not like the dog purposely causes the cat's probelms, or causes the cat to be hated. Dont turn the dog into a scapegoat here. Blame the woman, and if it's best, take the cat AND the dog to a no kill shelter so they can each get the care and love they deserve, and so that dog can get some training and be a happier dog and better companion.

Oh I see so I should send a mentally disturbed dog that attacks people and other animals to a shelter to rot or attack ANOTHER CHILD!!! This dog is a very bad dog... It is beyond help, its mental problem is horrible... She has been vicious since day one... Shes just as bad as the mother (she has a serious mental problem too)... All that dog does is attacks the cat & the older dog. Oh & she tried to attack my friends new born baby. the dog came out of no where & lundged at the baby... One night She attacked the older dog so bad the father couldn't pull her off of ther old dog, he yelled for Rob & Rob tried to grab her collor & she attacked Rob & the father, Rob was bleeding & he had to grab the dog by the throat with both hands just to get her off the poor old dog, he even had to fight the dog to chain it outside.. Oh & did Imention that the old dog was just SLEEPING!!! The dog is getting worse & worse & the stupid mother praises it every darn time it snarls, snaps or attacks the cat!!
There was a very good reason why the previous owners dumped her...

The dog is too dangerous to give away. Its best if she was put down... & I can't put the cat into a shelter until its warmer out.. We have to make it look like the cat ran away, cause the mother will blame it on us cause she'll know that the cat wont go outside at this time of year... I would take the cat to Newfoundland with me but both rob & I get very ill from her & neither of us r cat people.. I don't mind petting her once & awhile, but I'd rather not get clawed or sick... but she is a very well tempered cat & still platful at the age of 7 or 8

It would have been nice if you mentioned this in your origional post before you started to talk about having the dog killed...

Has anyone tried taking the dog to a behaviorist?

I have talked about this dog before.. & why would they take it there when they don't even take it to a vets... & its more then a behaviour problem... this dog is mentaly messed up... she super stupid for a dog. She doesn't know her name, knows no tricks or commands (the father did try when they first found her) She runs into things. She sticks her nose in the water dish & sniffes the water & then choaks on it. She doesn't know how to clean her self... she pees on the floor & then roll in it.. oh & she pees on the mothers bed & the livingroom's couch & no one will clean it up, so I don't sit on the couch (I mostly hide in my room)... & no matter hoe many times I tell the dog to get away from me, push her away, she keeps coming back... I don't trust that dog at all, all I need is to touch her or let her stay too close to me & then I have fingers missing...

I would love to take the old dog to Newfoundland with us, but we have no more room, nor the $$ to care for her... but as soon as we get rid f the black dogf, the older dog & father will be able to live in peace (the father love the old dog to death).. he can't taker her to the vet, but atlease he loves & cares for her daily needs (the mother has him by the B@!!$)

Someday we plan on taking the father with us aswell.. the mother is killing him... He needs to quit smoking (or he'll die soon) but the mother keeps shoving them down his throat. He also needs to quit working before he becomes anymore crippled & in even more pain (shes forcing him to work & she takes 95% of his money so she can go & gamble everyday with him, when she damn well knows he hates going)

When we do move to Newfoundland, we are taking his younger brother as soon as we get moved in (there will be no room in the truck for him on the way down)... we'll be buying him a plane ticket & fly him down.... Unless we get a really big moving truck so he can come on the trip down there (which is what we want)

whoa there.. no need to attack me. You never explained any of that in your first post, and Im sorry if I made assumptions, but how was I supposed to know better? I didnt know anything about the dog.

anyhoo.. yes that dog shouldve been euthanized long ago, and its mother never should have been bred. It is so unfortunate things like this happen. The dog was probably never socialized, and as you said, its been abused. It makes me angry that dogs need to be euthanized because stupid humans mistreated them and/or didnt care for them right in the first place. Socialization is an essential part of raising a puppy.

Well I dont know if that means she has mental problems.. A lot of that just sounds like she was never trained or socialized properly. And dogs dont clean themselves like cats.. BTW what breed is it? The peeing thing could be lack of training, and/or territorial. And it seems to me that the poor dog has been abused/neglected its whole life and just wants some attention/love from you, which is why it keeps following you around.

Its hard for me to read these posts about you feeling so hateful toward this dog. Its a belief of mine that nothing a dog (or cat etc) does, is its fault. Dogs are bred by humans, (or not fixed by humans..) and therefore it is our responsibility to take care of them. If a dog is not socialized properly it will develop serious behavioral problems that can be difficult to impossible to reverse as it ages. It's not the dog's fault if it was neglected or abused by humans. It's not the dog's fault it wasn't trained. It's not the dog's fault it (possibly) has a mental problem, or untreated illness. It's not the dog's fault it's been (probably unintentionally) encouraged to misbehave and become vicious. I also don't appreciate it when people call dogs stupid. I find that very disrespectful, especially if this dog does indeed have mental problems it cant help. A lot of people associate lack of obedience to stupidity, and that's just not the case. And as I already said, it's not a dog's fault if it hasn't been trained. Just my opinion..

If its never been to the vet or trainer or behavioralist how can you be so sure its a "mental problem" and not an illness or behavior problem? I know Im not a professional trainer or behavioralist, but neither are you, so I mean, my point is just how can you know if it has never been checked by someone? I personally would suggest the dog see a vet to rule out any possible illnesses and then if need be see a behavioralist. However, I dont know the dog really, and Im just going off what you said, (I mean to make any assumptions), and it sounds like the dog prob has too many problems by now (how old is it?) to be able to be reversed. And if it was brought to a shelter it would most likely end up being euthanized because it’s unsafe for them to adopt out dogs like that. It also sounds like this dog isnt really well liked or cared for by most of the people in the home, and the most practical/possible solution in this situation would be euthanasia.

The dog use to be loved. When she was first found Rob feel in love with her & she slept with him the first night. & the next day was a nightmare. The old dog was sleeping on the floor while we were watching tv. Then the black dog walked right over to the old dog & jumped on her face & started to attack her for no reason... the old dog wont fight 99.9% of the time.

We say the dog is mental because, she acts the same way the mother does. One min they r nice to u & then the next min their attacking u for no reason at all, they just go crazy!! & we know for a fact that the mother is mental cause has been on crazy pills but now refuses to take them so our lives totally suck & we have to hid in our room when she gets home from work (we also don't know how shes keeping a job or even keeping friends... The mother is a horrible person, & if she was smart she would take the pills like the dr. said...

The last thing any of us needs is a second psycho in the house... & I feel u can dislike an animal, just like u can dislike a human... both humans & dogs have their own personalty & we r able to dislike them.

This is how the dog runs away.

The older dog is way to smart for a dog. She can unlock the back door & open it to let herself outside. She'll run around the neighbourhood, but knows her way back or will comeback when called. Well the black dog has no sence of direction & runs off & can't find the house even when she runs by on the front lawn. She wont come to her name, she refuses to learn it... We have to chase her into someones backyard & corner her to catcher her (its the same backyard everytime)...
