closer than we knew

My husband and I do not know anyone in the miilitary who is fighting right now. I know of some people, and those I have heard of on here, but I don't directly know anyone.
I was working the other night, and a girl I work with tells me that the young man who was killed by the grenade in the tent was from her hometown, and he was 27. My husband is from the same town, and is also 27. I asked him if he knew him, and he did. Not well, but he knew him to see him, and was upset at the news.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family, as well as all of the families of our troops. May God bless them all.

I think as this war progresses we will find that we knew far more men and women than we thought - someone from our home town, a friend of a friend and so on.

My prayers go out for the soul of this young man - 27 - in his prime..........

Yes, they just had services for a very young Marine from San Diego, my heart breaks to see the families lose such wonderful young men. Prayers go to their famililies and all of the young men and woman over there.
