    My momz a herroz!

A True story told by Julian

Hiz diz is Julianz and my momz a heroz!!!! See the storiz goez like diz.......

Derz I waz justz mindz my ownz buisness eatin grazz

I waz thinkinz to my self I waz the happiezt bunz on the earth! I got sun on my back and some grazz to eatz.

Momz had purchazed a puppiez pen for my old friend Chewiez and had pazzed it on to meez so I could go out therez and strech my oldz bonez..

(of courz momz never left the penz side and even came in to sit with mez for about a half hourz.)

I herdz a russlinz noiz to my right

When all da sudden momz screamz and startlez mez so I ranz teh opsit wayz!

Beforz I evenz movez I find myself in momz arms being sqeezed and mom practcly leaning over top of mez

Then I sayz it! Some stupid ladiez was walking her, get diz, greyhoud ( ) and had itz off leash! The grey hound was circlingz us round and round the penz. Lucliez momz was sitting indian stylez and shoved me down betweenz her legz and sat over mez, the dogz almoz nock the fence overz!! The lady finaly gotz aholdz of her dogz and took it to the sidewalk and apoligzed to no extentz to mom. Mom was to busy cryin and cuddlinz mez to evenz listen to the ladyz. She promized to keep her dog on a leash from now onez and said she waz so sorriez. Mom said it was ok But I knewz she wanted to go down therez and tell dat lady what she realliez though. But you can't blamz the dogiez for follwing instictz. Well momz was all shook up and promized never to have me out frontz againz. We will goez in the back yardz onlyz and I don't thinkz momz will everz leave my side! Mom allowed me to eat a little bit more graz and thenz scoopez me up and broughtz me insidez. I thinkz my mom deservez some parcly tonight for being so heroic, I know daz would be the ultimit priz for mez!

(This is ashley) My heart is still beating. I thought that dog was going to kill my baby boy. Uggh. I can't beleave I was stupid enough to even take him out front, even if he was in a pen! Ugh. I'm so mad at myself right now. I could of lost my baby boy! I'm just glad the lady learned her lesson, I mean she had no way of telling someone would have there bunny out. Luckily I was in the pen with him. Other whys I don't even know what I would have done!

OMG! I would have had a heart attack if that was me. I'm glad you were there to save him from the dog. And I'm glad the lady learned her lesson.

At least everything ended well, in that Jullian is safe, she knows now not to let her dog off leash, and you know now to take him out in the back yard only. Lovely pictures, and a happy ending.

I don't want you guys to think I'm a bad bunny owner, I took procotions (sp), really I did. I never left the cage's side I was always there, when someone came by with dogs I would walk over towards the cage more just in case. Most of the time I was in there with him. I made sure he had his wooden box to hide in incase if he was scared or if he felt the need to hide. I have *never* seen a dog off leash befor in our neighborhood and I have lived her for more then 10 years! Everyone walks there dogs on leashes, everyone. I "knew" he would be safe, I had no worries about dogs, I was more worried about crows, but I still was always there and was always watching and made sure that Julian felt safe and was safe. I honestly never thought that someone would be walking there greyhound off leash through the neighborhood, no one walks there dogs off leash, no one

Well, even if you didn't have your bun out in that pen that lady shouldn't have had her dog off a leash anyways! What if a wild bunny or a squirrel ran out in front of her and the dog ran after it?
The dog could have gotten lost or hurt or hit by a car! Some people just don't think.

And by the way, you are definantly not a bad bunny owner. At least your bun was in a pen and you were watching him to protect him from danger.

Nobody here will think you are a bad bun owner! I had a playpen for my bunnies that I frequently let them play in. What a relief that he is safe and sound!

    Thank you Wolf_Q!

Oh Julian, you are so lucky that your mommy was around!! That naughty dog could have been really nasty! It is like you said, your mommy is a hero!
At first, when reading your story, I thought there was a snake in your pen ...

Our bunny Billie loves to play in her pen too! As it is in the backside of our garden, we don't have to be scred for other animals!

    here it is!

Yea I know. There is a stray cat I feed and it hangs around our house all the time. When we moved in the cat was soo skinny, so I fed it. Cats and dogs are one of the main resons I didn't leave Julian's side, at all, not for a moment. Thanx everyone. Me and my dad have been waiting to build Julian a pen in the backyard. We wanted warmer weather and plan on builind him a nice sturdy play pen. So he will be in the backyard which has a nice wooden fence the whole way around and then in his own pen. I hope that will be safe enough I cna leave the yard for a moment and not have to worry. As for now Julian has been messing up my room for the past week Chewed holes in my sheets and pillows and spread his litter box litter all over my room I think he got mad I left for 2 days. Poor bunny, such a momma's boy!

So glad to hear Julian is okay! I put my guys out in a puppy pen too and never leave them alone when they are out. Like you said you never know what's going to come along. For me - so far- it's been little kids who want to play and hold the bunnies...crawl in to the pen with them....
