Aw, Asia is adorable! So is the rest of your family

You're very talented, I love your art! I still am looking through them all but so far the Maiden series and Chestnut Moon are my favorites

Please sign my guestbook if you have the time

    Thank you Ann,

Thanks for the compliment on my little Asia. She is such a joy to watch grow. I wish I could have brought home another sibling or two of hers. One of her brothers wasn't doing well. He is pulling through and the rest of the litter are doing good at my friends home.

Glad to hear that someone other than me likes my Maiden series. That has been a work in progress for years!

Asia is so cute! What type of cat is she? She looks kind of like a Birman, or a Siamese Your other animals are very beautiful too!

    Thanks Bluekat!
Asia is from a barn cat colony of a friend of mine in Maine. The colony has quite an interesting history!

The colony started in her barn in Spencer, MA. She moved most of the colony to her barn in Brimfield, MA. Then when they moved to Maine they took the colony with them.

My cat Ember, the calico on the left in the above picture, was born to one of my friend's female calico's at the barn in Brimfield. There is a possibility that Ember and Asia could be distantly related as they came from females from the same colony. Ember's mom was feral and we couldn't trap her when my friend moved the colony to Maine. Ember's mom moved herself to a farm nearby the barn in Brimfield. Asia's mom is about the same age that Ember's mom would have been. (A coyote got Ember's mom and siblings )

From time to time my friends female that bore Asia has had pointed kittens. The last one looked like a seal-point Siamese. He disappeared from the colony and they think a neighbor took him as they see a cat like him at a nearby farm.

Asia's mom is black with a tiny bit of white. In her last litter of 6 she bore three black kittens. One solid black and two with a tiny bit of white on their faces. The other three kittens are pointed. Asia has the lightest points and the other two kittens look like they are seal-points. The difference with this litter is that the pointed kittens have mediums coats. A first for this female who is a shorthair.

(Asia is now six weeks old. Her mom is 10 and her milk dried up with this litter. The solid black kitten was lost, but the other 4 seem to be transitioning well to a soaked diet.)

So at this point Asia looks like she is going to resemble a Birman although she definately is not a purebred!

Hope you guys didn't mind me sharing about Ember and Asia! Their colony is the first feral 'cared for' colony that I have known and 'watched'...and the whole turn of events has had me fascinated. (Mystery is also from a feral colony...but the colony was decimated by coyotes and he is the one of the few survivors, the rest of the survivors are, like Mystery, in pet homes and no longer feral.)

I have to find what I did with the horse pics...but here is a link to a page about them!

    Stony & Shinook

Shinook is 18 now. I have to update their page!

At the bottom of the page is a picture of my children when they were younger and we still had our two senior ponies and our blind pony.

    From left to right:
Josh on Axel - Jer on Mr Pickles - Karissa on Candy.
I am in the process of making a page about our "pony days".

I missed the welcome thread, so here's a big Welcome from me!
I'm sure you'll enjoy it here - the rest of us are addicted to PT!

I love Naomi, she's just my kind of cat - so sweet in the picture on the floor!

My cat is Fister, he's an orange male, 6 years old. He was born in our backyard. (see avatar)

    Welcome again!
