    Bald spot?

I adopted Darwin last December from an Animal Aid Shelter. I've noticed a bald patch developing on his tummy . I don't remember it being there when I got him. The skin looks normal (not irritated or itchy), and I'm not sure if he's just over "washing" that area. He's a very good "washer" and spends a lot of time grooming and licking his fur. He also loves to be brushed but I avoid that area when I do brush him so I don't think that's the problem. He has developed a very thick coat because I feed him very good food and brush him. He's also strange in that he likes cold spots ... its winter here and he sits by the cold window and tries to go into the fridge. I don't keep my house very warm (or so my friends and family tell me) but none-the-less he seems to prefer cool spots for some reason. And therefore, sometimes I wonder if he's shedding because he's too warm? Anyone have anything similar or any advice?? Thanks and have a nice day ...

I"m gonna say what everyone told me when I posted about my Eliza girl's spot on her tail..

If it's new, and isn't improving, go to the vet. Could be allergies or lots of things.

In Eliza's case it seems to just have been that she always has a paw there that rubs against the spot when she's bathing her self (she does this because she has short legs and would other wise roll over!) That and her skin was really dry... but her hair is growing back.

Keep an eye on it, and if it doesn't improve, or gets worse, make an appt with the vet. Kitty won't be happy, but its better safe than sorry!
