Another one has gone to the RB

Last night I had to put one of my porch kitties down. I had been feeding this cat for about the past four months and he was just fine. Then last night a friend of my found him huddled in a corner. I went out to take a look at it and he was literally stuck to the concrete. So with a little water and some patience I managed to separate him. We then took him to my local vet. I had just seen him a couple of days ago, but I think he got into something poisonious (maybe anti-freeze??) The vet told me he had gone blind, was severely dehydrated and had sever neurological impairment. It was one of the hardest decisions I have had to make lately, but I had him put to sleep.

He is now with all of our other babies at the RB and may he find the peace and happiness that he didn't have on earth...

So sorry to hear of your loss. You did a wonderful thing by taking him as one of your own. Likewise, you did a wonderful thing by ending his suffering.

Here come the tears again! So sorry for you loss. I'm sure your porch kitty knew you loved him and he is greatful for all that you've done. He's know in good hands and good health at the RB!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

I am so sorry for your loss.
But I must say that when I first read the headline I was scared it could be Emily. Please forgive but in the last weeks it sometimes happened so fast.
I hope she is better soon.

Oh that is SO sad! I hate hearing that. You did the right thing.
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

I know how awful you feel right now. I had to put one of my outdoor strays down after a neighbors dog attacked him. Your baby is safe with the other RB pets now. I'm sure he knew how lucky he was to have you look after him the last few months. He's where nothing can ever hurt him again.

This is so sad. He must have been so scared. I hate that when things like this happen to animals that have no idea what is happening much less why it is happening.

I'm so sorry, but like everyone else said, you did the right thing and he is now where nothing can hurt him.

Poor kitty. RIP sweety, and have fun at the RB where you know you are safe.

So sad. But at least he was able to die in a warm dry place with someone who loved him.

    So sorry for your loss.
