    Apolagy to Jessica12345

    Jessica,
I reread my reply to your question about Jewel and I realize that I was very harsh sounding. Please forgive me for saying your pup was acting like a spoiled brat. I can imagine if someone said that to me that I would be very offended. There are many ways I could of reworded my reply and I am sorry I didn't. My only excuse is that I sometimes open mouth and insert foot in my desire to offer advice. This is one of those times. I feel really bad. I am sure your Jewel is very precious and the apple of your eye.

Again, I am sorry and wanted to say so publicly. I deserve chastized for my tactless response.

    Candy,

I went back to read your original response & I really don't
think you need to chastized for it at all. Sometimes it's better
to "call a spade a spade". Many people who have small breed
dogs tend to treat them differently than an average or large
size breed. A small dog is every bit as much a dog in everyway
as the bigger breeds & should be treated in obedience matters
exactly the same way. They should learn manners at an early
age. I feel sorry for the older dog in this situation, if the little
dog is allowed to rule the roost. You are such a kind & knowledgable dog trainer and I know you meant your advice
to only help with this "jelousy/dominance" problem. Please
    cut youself some slack.

Jessica did respond to me via PM and said not to worry about it. She was understanding.

Liz, I only want to be helpful to those who may not have as much dog experience as I do. My intention is not to hurt peoples feelings with harsh words. I could of been more diplomatic in the words I chose to address the situation. I did not need to call Jessica's dog a spoiled brat. More correctly Jewel has not been trained to understand that she is doing something wrong and until she is, Jessica will continue to have an issue of not being able to pet Jordan when she wants. It never hurts to admit if you think you hurt someones feelings.
