annoying but loveable dogs

my dog is annoying because she always jumps up on me when i'm trying to type so all my words look like this "hio hoeerwsw arjjfde fjdyolknlu"
which was hi how are you... how do you think i can get her to stop...ITS SO ANNYOING BUT I LOVE HER ANYWYA

Hah, hah, hah! If I had an answer to that one, MY LIFE would be a LOT easier (but probably not as fun) AND I'd be rich! I'm not the one who has the cure for "annoying" behavior!! But, there's always Carrie!!!

Perhaps you just need to work on teaching her that this is not good behavior! When you are working on the computer, if she jumps up, you should immediately say "Down," in a very stren voice. When she does get down, all four feet back on the floor, then you can give her a bit of attention, and a treat perhaps. If you, and whoever else uses the computer, are consistent, she ought to get the hint pretty quickly! And if she waits, while you work at the computer, when you are ready for a break, playtime with her! That way it'll be a reward for both of you - you, because you got your computer work done, and she, 'cause she was so good at waiting!

Karen, I have a qualifier on that advice. If you normally use the term "down" for a command that means "lie down" it is best not to use that same word for other things such as what you expect in this instance, this would be confusing. The word we use in this case would be "off". This can mean off of me, off the chair, off the couch, etc. essentially the same thing that you meant.... "back onto the floor".
