Pictures of the two goldens transported Sunday

It was an eventful transport! We were to get the two Goldens at noon and take them to Bedford. At 10:30 we got a call that the lady we were to get them from was in an accident. The roads were very bad since it was snowing all over the east coast. She wasn't hurt but her car was very badly messed up. So we met the guy who had the leg before her instead. When we picked the dogs up they were afraid and very confused.

We traveled to Bedford but the lady we were to give the dogs too was still an hour and a half away since she was stuck in traffic going 10 miles an hour because of bad roads. We split the distance with her and continued on. We went another 40 miles. We took the dogs out and played in the snow (it was the first time either of them had played in snow - you could tell by there actions) with them. I ran them around a big field and then we watered them and petted them. They thrived on it and really were beginning to show their true selfs with us. When we finally met up with the lady for the next leg, we were all sad to let these two wonderful boys go. She crated them and they had that sad why are you leaving me look in their eyes again.

This is Deuce. He was the larger of the two and I don't know his story but he is very loving. He worked his way up into the front seat and laid his head on my husbands lap and loved the ear rubs he was getting! He had scabs all over his head. They say he is a dominant male but doesn't talk dog well so he ends up in lots of fights. I just think he needs someone to love him and he will be fine!

This is River. His story is very sad. He came from a backyard breeder who had 10 Goldens all outside in a 12X12 pen. They finally decided they didn't want the dogs anymore after Golden Rescue was notifed and offered to place all the dogs. Thank God they were willing to give them up. What a terrible life for any dog but especially a breed that is so social in nature. He was very timid but bonded with my son and licked his had for minutes. Could of been the fried chicken he had for lunch!

    How wonderful! Nice pics.

Sorry to hear you had bad weather. I was expecting it here but thankfully we had clear roads for our run.

Geez! So many accidents! All for a good cause, though. Those two gorgeous Golden boys are now safe. Thank you for sharing the pictures. They were great!

Candy, thanks for doing that!! The dogs are beautiful. I'm sure the forever home is deeply thankful. We got an email from the one forever home of Sunday's transport. She told Mike that the ratty old collar that we put on him (he was wearing only a pinch collar when we picked him up) would be treasured forever!! How sweet is that?? I'm sorry the weather didn't cooperate, but that makes it doubly great that you did it.

Yeah!!! Another successful transport!!! Isn't it amazing how you can fall in love so quickly, even in just an hour or two time?? I have done that, over and over!!!

Kudos to you, Candy, and your faamily, for caring enough to help these boys!!!
