While I was at Home Depot, I picked up this Quik-Tube. Basically, it's a large round cardboard tube/tunnel. It's suppossed to be used as a concrete building form. I'm using it to make a fabric covered, fleece lined cat/ferret tunnel...like the ones you find in stores anywhere from $15 to $30. This tube was only $7 and is 12 inches in diameter and 48 inches long. I'm sure any home improvement or large hardware store would have it or something like it.
I got the idea from a website that cut this in half and used the tubes to attach to a cat tree they were making(of course, they attached it after covering it in heavy duty fabric or carpet.) You can keep the tube whole/round or cut it into a half moon shape and make it like a cat bed to attach to a cat tree. They were attaching this to a small step ladder that they had covereed in sisal rope and voila...instant cat tree!
