Thought I would put this out. I have just found a product the FURMATOR that works as advertised which usually isn't the case. It pulls more undercoat than any tool I've ever tried, so I love it as my cat does also because it grabs the hair with the slightest pressure.

I have one. You need to be careful about the motion you use or you can hurt the cat. It does work very well, though.
