    The one and only cat....

When Willy was diagnosed with kidney failure, he was put on the k/d food which has less protein.

Many of you shared with me your experience with k/d food. If I recollect correctly, not a single cat would eat it.

Well, I now have video evidence of a cat who will eat k/d food to share with you.

As you may have surmised from the video, that is not Willy eating the food. As you predicted, he won't touch the stuff.
But Cammie, our senior girl with 3 remaining teeth, likes it! Since most senior kitties have kidney problems, the vet said it was okay for her to keep eating it.

Willy update ~ In April, he appeared to have days rather than weeks to live. He has rallied with the help of sub-q fluids (with potassium added). He gets the fluids every other day and runs and plays like a silly boy. He had a checkup on Monday and though his numbers are still off the charts the vet doesn't want to see him for another 3 months unless he goes downhill. If he's still doing well at that point, we'll do more bloodwork to check the numbers again.

Ask your vet about microchipping. ~ It could have saved Kuhio's life.

I guess Willy doesn't know what the numbers said, so he can continue on being silly! I hope he continues to defy the experts and does well for a long time.

My experience with 'special' food was a little different. Oscar was the only one getting C/D food and everyone else wanted it. So now EVERYONE gets it! *sigh* Our kitties love to baffle us, don't they?

Well, at least someone will eat it so it doesn't go to waste, right?

Glad to hear Willy is doing well. I hope to hear in many more months that he is still doing as good.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

I agree. Lots more prayers and positive thoughts are being sent to Willy.

Well done, Willy!!! Keep on keeping on!

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

You just keep keepin' on, Willy! Play, thrive, and get those numbers down! I am amazed that you have a cat that will actually eat one of the foods prescribed by the vets. I've never seen it. They usually smell really foul and the cats won't even go near it, much less eat it.

Yep, that's what everyone told us would happen. Which is why we got video evidence of the one and only cat (on the planet?) that will eat the stuff. Maybe Cammie's smeller is off?

I am sure Filou sends his support from Rainbow Bridge to Willy. Filou loved his Royal Canin Renal food, but onky the pouches

As long as someone's eating it, at least the money's not being wasted! I am relieved to read that Willy is doing so well. He's in my prayers every night - sounds as if they're working.
