    Dexter

    Dexter, your story was sad but then I smiled, reading about all the nifty sounds you mimic! I'm sorry you cannot fly due to what happened in your previous home, but thankfully your new guardian is taking super good care of you. Have a wonderful POTD celebration with your devoted person and lots of treats and attention, sweetheart!

    Dexter the sound effects specialist!

    Good morning, Dexter, pretty grey guy! I am so sorry about your wings, but I am glad your guardian helps you exercise them every day -- plus, you use your feet and your guardian to get around. How neat that you can mimic so many sounds! I bet laughter is heard often at your house. I like the picture of you with your head tilted Happy Pet of the Day, Dexter!

    Dexter is awsome and amazing! Loved seeing him as POTD! He's such a fine lookin' bird and here's hoping that his life and wing will just get better with each passing day. All the love and care he gets now will certainly assure that! Peace and love to Dexter and his family

    I am so sad about your wings but so glad you have a loving guardian to take the best possible care of you. I loved seeing your pictures. The one of you peeking at us sideways has me smiling. I can tell you are one very loved boy. Please, thank your human for sharing you with us, ok?

Your indomitable, fighting spirit, your ability to learn to love and trust after all that you've been through, is truly an inspiration, and a testament to the avian spirit! I was near tears reading of your former life, the neglect you suffered. And while a few of the physical scars still remain, it's clear your heart and spirit have long since healed! What an amazing fellow you are, Dexter, beautiful in body and heart, and your human so very blessed to have a best feathered friend, a loving and devoted companion for life, in you! And you just happen to be quite the entertainer to boot! I'm always amazed at the ability of big birds to mimic, and your talents are right up there with the best of them (though I think you're the first I've met you can duplicate a smoke alarm, and soda being poured over ice!

    I want to thank of all you for the kind remarks about my Dexter! He has been such a brave little man going back and forth to the vets, taking medicine and wearing special collars.
