U.C.W. 50th Anniversary

These are pictures from U.C.W.(United Church Women)50th Anniversary on Sunday.The first picture is the cake we had after the service,first of 3 of the ladies of the U.C.W.,the little girl isn't part of this,everyone who had a hat was in the picture,in the first one,Mom is beside the lady with the purple top(Helen Hammond),they were both in the U.C.W'S predecessor the Women's Auxiliary in 1954.In the other two,Mom is the 3rd lady in the first row with the yellow hat,a had Marlene wore at my Cousin Sharon's wedding in 1984.The U.C.W. started in 1962 with 17 groups and 220 women,they were numbered units until they named them with women's names form the Bible.Now,it is down to 2 ,as you can see,most ladies are Seniors,not many younger ones joining this.

......of the Church Women Groups.......and especially the wearing of hats.....i have loved wearing hats.....Women today do not know what they are missing.....groups like this are powerful.....and wonderful.....
