    Hi, Trihok,

Cinder, talkin'. Dad lets me 'n Boots, the Kat, play laser tag, but he's real careful to never shine the beam into or near our eyes, and we're never allowed to look at the light. If we start to stare towards the light, he turns it off and the game's over.

Seems laser light is real dangerous to look at, even the ones that claim to be "safe" are not supposed to be shined into Hoomin eyes, so Dad says we pets can't look at it either. Dad sometimes (when he can't 'member where he puted the pointer) uses his shiney watch band to reflect the sun around the room, but that doesn't work too well at night. I don't lower myself to chasing the light for very long, but the stoopid Kat would run around the room all day if Dad could hold the light pen that long. Dad can fool the dummy Kat every time by moving the light under sumthin like a couch or inta the trash bin and then turnin the light off - stoopid Kat goes boonkers lookin for where the light went to hide while Dad gets back to wachin the TV box. Kat's not the brightest bulb in the house.

Have fun tormenting your pup .

    /s/ Cinder, the lil' Shepherd

I have to use the flashlight sometimes when Honey is being extra stubborn about coming inside. Dont' have a laser pointer, but that girl will follow that flashlight beam right in through the backdoor. I save it for emergency situations so she won't figure out what I'm doing! Mimi, our cat, loves to chase the flashlight beam around the room too. I swear she would climb the walls, if possible, to get to it!

Yes poor Daisy chases it for hours. My cousin got a laser pointer for Christmas and he and my sisters could torment my poor baby for hours. I have shown her numerous times it's a light, but she keeps on chasing it! I hate when people see her because even though it is funny ti watch, it certainly doesnt make her seem to smart But an advantage to it - when we can't get her to come in at night, a flash of the laser and she chases it right into the house!

Logan and Daisy's Mom.....what a terrific idea!! Wish I had known that about 1 1/2 yrs. ago. Although I don't have any dogs right now I never would have thought of a laser pointer to get them to come in the house! My dog, Ashley, could have benefitted from that. I used to shake the doggie biscuit box when I got desperate. I know.....bad idea!!!! Creates fat dogs and instills bad habits!!! She is the dog who would, when called, walk around the entire outer yard (along the fence) when called instead of coming in a straight line (much shorter!)

How about turning the game into something a bit more exciting - hide treats around the room and then point to where they are with the laser. This can then be expanded to retrieving objects for a treat, getting the dog to bring keys, slippers etc. by pointing the laser at them. It's still a game for the dog and great fun for you to see how many things you can use it for. (Mind those eyes though!)

A word of caution about Laser pointers. At some point the dog WILL figure out where the light is coming from, and may try to grab the poiner out of your hand. It may be a fun game for humans, but it is very frustrating for the dog.
