Botox OK'd in Canada to fight chronic migraines

    http://www.cbc.ca/news/health/story/...e-chronic.html

Health Canada has approved the anti-wrinkle treatment Botox for people who suffer with chronic migraines at least 15 days a month.

Botox, or onabotulinumtoxinA, can now be used as a preventive treatment for adults who have headaches that last fours hours a day or more for half a month, maker Allergan, Inc. announced Monday.
Botox, best known for its cosmetic uses, is also approved in Canada for preventing chronic migraines and to treat muscle stiffness and spasticity.
Health Canada's approval was based on clinical trial data involving 1,384 adults collected by the drug's maker.

It was also FDA approved for chronic migraines -- that could be nearly a year ago now. I have a good friend who gets debilitating migraines, so I wish for her anything that will keep her from getting the severe pain and other symptoms. At times they have really knocked her off her feet.

I just post them for information that might be useful for others. I know a number of PTrs suffer horribly from migraines.

Today I did post a video of a great puck-drop and posted a small opinion that it was wonderful (or words to that effect).

But not everything needs to be embellished by my opinion.

Well, if it doesn't work for headaches at least people will feel better about their wrinkles being gone...

It's amazing all the uses that have been found for such a toxic material! Poor migraine sufferers need all the help they can get.

happylabs - because of where the stuff is injected, there can be some easing of forehead wrinkles! That's a very good side effect for most.
