Steve Jobs, founder and former CEO of Apple, has passed away.

It's all over Facebook and the news. I'm very sad to hear of this.

It is sad, but we knew it was going to happen, given his illness and how thin he had become, it was obvious he was extremely ill.

I was there in 1984 when they debuted the Macintosh in Boston, I was a college student and the event was held at my school, so I got to see it. I have used them pretty much ever since.

It would be awesome if someone could transcribe the speech for me. Anyone? I would really appreciate it.

I am saddened that we have lost a genius like Steve Jobs. He started no less than a revolution in computing!

What President Barack Obama said, sums it up:
"Steve was among the greatest of American innovators — brave enough to think differently, bold enough to believe he could change the world, and talented enough to do it."

I remember how thrilled both John and I were, when he bought his first Apple computer in 1988, I think it was the SE. Equally thrilled was our friend, a journalist, who got to meet Steve Jobs in Copenhagen shortly after.

Rest in peace, Steve - you will be missed, but never forgotten!

Death of anyone is always a great loss, but even more so when such a brilliant mind passes on at such a young age.

RIP Steve Jobs. The world was changed by you, and tho your name may fade from peoples' minds, your legacy never will.

I don't know what else to say but iSad.

I remember when my dad brought home the Apple Computer, when I was still a teenager. I've been an Apple/Mac fan ever since. Steve Jobs was a genius.
