    computer help please

My husband got another virus. Again. He clicks on links willy nilly. He thinks he's on ESPN, yahoo, MSN, etc. and will end up somewhere all together different

We had someone come out a couple weeks ago and fix the computer. they installed malware and virus protection, but it apparently wasn't very good because he got another worm. I finally got a system restore to take and now we're back up and running, but no protection. I did a quick internet search for stuff, but I honestly felt like I was being sent to scam websites.

I know there are a lot of computer gurus here who can give me links to good programs.

I know the one was Malwarebytes, which I have on my own computer, but I ended up in some very un-Malewarebytes places.

    Help!!!!

Perhaps you might want to look into an Apple computer? We've had Macs for 12 years - never had any sort of a bug, virus, nothing bad.

www.malwarebytes.org This is not an anti-virus program. It has to be updated each time you want to use it. Download the free version.

AVG free here: http://free.avg.com/ca-en/homepage Don't let the clutter confuse you - just watch for the orange Download Now bar on the top LHS.

If you can sneak into hubby's computer, you may want to activate Parental Controls on Internet Explorer.

Here are the instructions for Windows XP. If he is using another operating system(Firefox, etc), let me know. http://www.windows-help-central.com/...indows-xp.html

You can find a lot of good free software at this link
    http://download.cnet.com/windows/

You can read their reviews to help with your decision. I am running Avira antivirus
that is free on this site.

    We use ESET antivirus.

Really, no antivirus will help if you voluntarily click on different links all the time. They don't always tell you the website is bad. I think it helps more for downloads and things like that.
