Happy Canada Day. We are heading out soon to the celebrations with the dogs. Then tonight we are taking them to watch the fireworks. It is suppose to be beautiful here today. Not too hot and not to cold so just right for a day outdoors.
Happy Canada Day to all our friends up north!
Anyone going to Lakeview Park, stop by the Accessibility Booth between 4 and 6 PM and say hello to Lin - she won't have her bichons with her, though. It sure will surprise her if you do this! Tell her Sandie sent you!
.
Happy Canada Day to all of you PT'ers north of the border. Enjoy a day of festivities and fireworks, but please leave your dogs at home where they will feel more secure. Every article that I have ever read, and by many experts, agree that fireworks are way too stressful for them - even for the calmest, most laid-back, and well behaved of dogs.

Happy Catada Day! Merlin and I are enjoying a relaxing day (first one in quite some time). Took this picture about an hour ago. He loves sitting on the window sill looking at the view and the boats going by.
His fur looks a little ratty right now. He gets real nasty when it comes time for any kind of grooming so he had a bit of shave at the vets a couple of weeks ago.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Luna and Sheena were a big hit at the celebrations in the park today. We were there for about 3 hours and they got to meet tons of dogs, kids, adults. Luna was a little nervous at first but after about 20 minutes calmed down and relaxed. We even got them each bandana's. I will post pictures of them later tonight along with the pictures of them and us watching the fireworks. Luna surprised us. We expected her to be more nervous then she was. This being her first big crowd event. But she was actually seeking out people to pet her. She loved the kids and some even hugged and kissed her. She got some treats but tons of pets and even got to play with many dogs that were there of various sizes.
Sheena was the usual hit. One kids even told us that if we ever get rid of her that he wants her because his sister is in a wheel chair. That really warmed my heart. He said he wanted a dog just like Sheena to help his sister. Sheena got tons of admiring looks and pets as well.
We even got me 3 new pairs of earings to go with my new blouses. I love the homemade jewllery and the prices. So all in all a very good afternoon. Looking forward to this evening.
I've been celebrating Canada Day all day... I listen to the CBC radio station from Windsor most of the time because I really like their music shows, and boy have they ever been doing Canada Day today! Sounds like there are concerts and special events all over the country.
Right now they are broadcasting live from the concert on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
