Patches the Aussie

Here's an update on Patches! I got to see him for the first time since he was 8 weeks old.. he'll be a year old in June. I went to Minnesota to stay a week with my dad. Patches is certainly quite the character! He's VERY hyper. I mean, I'm not kidding, he's insane with energy. lol I only got these pictures because I was playing with him for over an hour and he was hot and took a rest. He's just sooo wiggly and happy, very sweet and loves attention. He doesn't have very good self control, has a hard time learning things unless he has run and run and run a few minutes before... however, he's very smart! Knows lots of commands- sit, down, stay, off, out, kennel, speak, shake, etc. Anyways, I had a fun time getting to know him. I just love him and wanted to take him home with me. hehe He just sheds A LOT!!! If your thinking of getting an Aussie, prepared to have hair in every crevice of your home and in your food. LOL

He is just an absolutely gorgeous dog. His butt is like extra furry compared to the rest of his body. lol Instead of trying to herd the cows, he licks their noses. lol, he wouldn't be much of a herding dog if you ask me
He's also bigger than I thought he would be, my guess is around 50 pounds. He jumps up on you and his paws touch your shoulders!

Wow!!! He's gorgeous and he sure has grown up quickly. You're right about him having so much energy. Hopefully he'll calm down some as he gets older. Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures of him with us.

OH EM GEE!!! I am in LOVE!!! He is georgeous!!!
I had to laugh about the dog hair....in and on everything!! While Zoee was gone for three weeks at my moms, I didn't vacuum once and only had one teeny hairball to pick up. She comes home and I have to vacuum in a day.
Also the video, that is Zoee when she plays with Taggart. My neighbor said he's never seen a dog run as fast as Zoee. Oh, and Zoee is 6 years old and still has this energy.....even with a bum knee!

I love that Patches is so photogenic. Zoee hates the camera and won't look at it. Patches seems to LOVE it!!

I know, they sure are quick! They like change directions at lightening speed.

Patches actually isn't all that photogenic. I mean, he is if he's CRAZY tired and laying down, and then I'll make some funny noises and he'll look at me. He normally won't stay still for more than two seconds and certainly won't look at you! hehe I'm the only one who's gotten pictures with him looking at the camera.
